Wardfield’s Diary: The Game Fair

Last Friday I, along with my father Rob, descended upon the glorious Ragley Hall for the for the 2016 Game Fair. A hotly anticipated first-look at the event following the demise of the CLAs involvement which was announced at the beginning of the year. It wasn’t only the Game Fair that were experiencing butterflies as the opening day approached. I too was feeling the pressure as we drove down to Warwickshire knowing the event would mark the official unveiling of the LightGun for the very first time.

The event was a smartly run, three-day countryside spectacle, bringing together like-minded people to celebrate the very best of Fieldsports. It was the perfect setting to meet a host of personalities from the shooting world and share with them my innovative new shooting product. We had the pleasure of meeting Robert Everitt of Hull Cartridge Company who was fascinated by the LightGun and eager to give it a go in the field. We visited the Gunn Line stand to meet curator Fin Gunn, a fan of all things British-made and founder of sporting agency Gunn Sporting. I was very pleased to discover how impressed he was by the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that had gone into creating the LightGun.

Our next stop was the temporary home of the Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club on Gunmakers Row. Founder Victoria Knowles-Lacks very kindly took time out of her incredibly busy afternoon to take a look at the LightGun. It wasn’t long before fellow Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club members gathered round to take a look at the holster and understand more about its benefits. We also managed to catch up with Will Goodwin from the newly launched World Shooting Guide; a portal for all shooting enthusiasts to find and share information about products and services, who we look forward to engaging with in the coming months.

It was a fantastic day out and wonderful opportunity to showcase the LightGun, to an overwhelmingly positive response. I look forward to seeing our friends again, next time at the shooting ground so we can demonstrate the LightGun and its host of benefits. Be sure to keep an eye out for our next diary entry to find out how they all got on!
